SM Presents Mallscapes Designated Dining Room
The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in a new era of outdoor dining concepts to make the dining experience convenient, safe and fun for customers.
With this in mind, SM Malls in Marilao, Baliwag and Pulilan feature Mallscapes Designated Dining, a unique, open-air attraction that provides a safe space for alfresco dining while adhering to health protocols.
“The Omicron variant was a reminder that the pandemic is not over and that we must not let our guard down,” shares Emmanuel Gatmaitan, manager of SM City Marilao shopping center.
“Our Mallscapes Designated Dining Facility focuses on the well-being of our mall patrons to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed while adhering to dining regulations set by the IATF” Engr. Gatmaitan added.

Located at the main entrance, SM City Marilao has transformed its veranda and sidewalk into a delightfully lush pocket garden. The outdoor mall curates a cozy dining area with an impeccably designed modern space adorned with green plants, warm lights and wood accents.
Perfect for solo dining and intimate celebrations, SM City Marilao’s new al fresco has set up dining chairs and tables and an adjoining outdoor patio where guests can safely enjoy their ordered meals and create memories while respecting physical distance.

SM City Baliwag and SM Center Pulilan have taken greening to a different level by setting up designated food zones outside the mall. A bright spot amid the pandemic, each of the mall’s al frescoes are built with minimalist home frames surrounded by lush green plants, making them a unique site to visit. Shoppers here can safely enjoy local food and scenery.
In addition to its visual aesthetic, SM’s Mallscapes designated dining areas offer convenient, contactless transactions, as customers can easily find the menu guide of open restaurants inside the mall through the QR codes visible on each dinner table.
“We continually find ways to innovate and enable our customers to have a safe, convenient and enjoyable shopping experience,” says Rodora Tolentino, SM City Baliwag Mall Manager.
Tolentino also added that these dining spaces are sanitized every 30 minutes while health and safety protocols are strictly enforced.
