BT’s smokehouse in Sturbridge reopens indoor dining room for the first time in ‘very long 444 days’

For the first time in over a year, BT’s Smokehouse in Sturbridge will welcome customers to one of the state’s most popular and well-known barbecue restaurants on Tuesday.

In a social media post on Monday, BT’s Smokehouse said it had been “a very long 444 days” since customers had dined inside the restaurant.

“We are hesitant to invite you again. ” the post said. “We ask you to be patient as we get back to having smiley faces in front of us again. “

Masks will still be required for people who have not been fully vaccinated when not eating or drinking.

While indoor dining will resume, the restaurant will still limit seating along the counter. The restaurant has also asked customers who plan to dine there to refrain from ordering their meals online.

Over the past year, BT’s Smokehouse has grown with a new location on Park Avenue in Worcester and a stand in Polar Park. But the restaurant has suffered its share of misfortunes.

Shortly after the Worcester location opened, a car smashed through the front door. Last month a small fire closed the Sturbridge location. The teams worked about 12 hours the next day to reopen the space.

Through it all, the restaurant has survived and is welcoming customers inside again on Tuesday.

“I cannot express to all of you how proud the BT family is and how hard they have worked over the past year to stay safe and continue to deliver consistent food with all the love. “said the restaurant. “And to all of you who have supported us as much as you have over the last 444 days. We did it for all of you! We created it !! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I really thank you all. .
